Where This Begins..

Updated: Apr 5

Depending on how long you’ve been following me on social media, you might know that I’ve always loved writing and sharing my thoughts. I used to keep an art journal where I would paint parts of my day and write about what I was feeling or what I had done (some past pages are attached here). Expressing myself like that always came naturally - it felt good, and it came from a genuine desire to connect with people who share similar interests.

Writing, like art, helps me make sense of things. It allows me to process, reflect, and understand what’s going on in my mind. I think that’s what led me here.

I share a lot on Instagram, but it’s never really the full picture. It’s mostly finished work, quick updates, or things that are easy to fit into a caption. There’s a lot that doesn’t make it there - my inspiration, the ideas behind my work, my thoughts, and things I’m still figuring out.

I wanted somewhere that feels more open and less filtered. A place where I can express myself more freely and just be myself. Somewhere I can share what’s happening behind the scenes, but also everything around it - what I’m making, personal stories, what I’m thinking about, inspirations, things I’ve been into, places I go, and random ideas that stay with me. Thoughts, life, and whatever sits somewhere in between.

It’s also a space where you can get to know me a bit more. I used to do this through my art journals - painting, writing, and letting things exist without overthinking them - and I think I’ve been missing that.

Another reason I wanted to start this is to build a sense of community. I’d love for this to be a space where people feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences too—something more like an open conversation than just a one-way post, where we can all feel a bit more connected. Especially during these uncertain times, community is important and feeling connected to each other.

To keep things engaging, I’ll be mixing different types of posts. Some will be short and easy to read, while others will go a bit deeper. Not everything here will be about art.

Your feedback matters to me as well. If there’s something you’d like to see more of, or topics you want me to explore, feel free to share. I’d love for this to grow into something we shape together.

This is a wonderful and brave step. While social media often only shows the "finished product," there is so much beauty in the process and the thoughts that happen behind the scenes. Seeing local Bahraini artists open up their personal journals and share their raw reflections makes the art feel even more connected to our community.

It’s refreshing to have a space that feels less like a gallery and more like a conversation. Looking forward to following this journey and seeing how these reflections shape your future work. Keep sharing our local scene needs more of these honest, open spaces!
